On our last night of revival we were encouraged to continue reflecting on what we need to be delivered from. I had had a feeling of being “lesser than” when I got to be part of the prayer team for the healing service. I feel called to do that but I often think maybe people would feel like they may not get as much prayer from me. The pastor reminded us that we all get the same amount of Holy Spirit! She also said, “even more demeaning to the demon is when a meek, lowly person can do this, not just those on the stage!” Wow! That is me! We may know we have the power in the name of Jesus to heal but we have to believe it!
I have permission to share this story anonymously. I was asked, during the healing service, to pray for this person to have the strength to make a confession. Later in the week I was asked if we could meet. She had not slept in two to three months because of shame and could not go to sleep many nights. After many years a past sin was rearing its ugly head, even though she had been forgiven years ago. We talked and prayed together. Jeremiah 31:34, "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." We remembered what Pastor Andy said, “He throws our sin into the ocean with a no fishing sign!” We’re thankful for God’s grace when we need to stop fishing, open doors and break barriers. Her new verse is Lamentation 3: 22-23, “...for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Because of God’s grace, she left that day loving our Lord a little deeper. Thank you God for Your overflowing grace!
I needed to read this today. I think we all have past sins it is hard for us to forget. God's grace is never ending. Thanks so much.
