Faster Than The Speed Of Sound

My family and I were swimming in the ocean and F-18 fighter jets kept coming over. I would hear them and look up and could not see them. This happens every time because they are already past the area I am looking at! As I was doing research I found the following information on google. "Air molecules are not tightly packed, so sound waves lose more energy when they travel through air. In one second, sound travels 1,129 feet through air. Through water, it can move about 4,60 feet per second, and through steel and glass it moves 16,000 feet per second. In other words, sound travels fastest through solids, slows down in liquids, and is slowest in gases. The denser the molecules, the faster sound goes through them." Those fighter jets go faster than the speed of sound.

I learned some other interesting information. Planet earth rotates at one thousand miles an hour as it has been, every day, since creation. There is no wobble, no vibration and we are not even aware of any movement other than the sun and the moon performing their daily tasks. We don't even know we are spinning. We are traveling through space on a continuous orbit around the sun at sixty-two thousand miles an hour! That’s one and a half million miles a day. WOW! That is five hundred and eighty million miles every year!

So why did I go digging for this information. Well, first of all it wasn't me. I think God put it in front of me as I was stressing over my "next steps". It is so human of me to get caught up in things I have no control over yet I seem to think I am in control! And yet we just read how amazing He is! Proverbs 16: 9, "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps." Why should I feel anxious about anything when the One who created the universe cares about me and my life? Genesis 1: 1, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." He wants the best for me and He has a plan for me. Jeremiah 29: 11, "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" God is in charge of everything that happens in HIS universe. I sometimes forget that it is HIS universe that I am in! In Isaiah 45:6, God says, “...so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is no other." God has no competition!

Life can be tough and we do not always understand why we are going through certain things. Even if God does not remove the person, the situation, the problem, the issue, etc, we can know He will use it for good. Romans 8: 28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." We can be frustrated because we do not see a way out. We do not see the big picture that God sees. We have to trust Him through our pain, trials, losses, hardships that He is in control. Proverbs 3: 5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Sometimes it is easy to forget about the part that says, "submit to Him". It is then that He will make our paths straight. He brings many blessings from our darkest hours. We have to trust Him to know the best for us. Isaiah 55: 9, "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts."
