Fast & Furious

When I would go to Mom and Dad’s they would be so excited to see me, even if they had seen me the day before. When I would surprise my granny, she would always say, “I was just ‘specting you!' They were all excited that I had come home! This is God’s House and He is standing at the door waiting for His children to come home.

At church we were challenged to seek God this season. Romans 12: 1, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” We can seek God by fasting and praying. We are to be disciplined by reading God’s Word. The One Year Bible is being offered again and some of us are trying, again. The third way to seek God is being in worship which comes easy for me. I cannot imagine not having worship time and fellowship once a week!

I had never fasted but Mike and I did. At first it was not easy. It was only ten days. We gave up a couple of things including sweets. At first I thought I may get mad when I want something and couldn't have it. God does not want us to be furious, He wants us to seek Him. I was shockeed at how quickly I learned, when I had a craving, it was time to pray…to seek Him. When I sought God, my mind was transformed. In true transformation we find grace, mercy and love. This was a wonderful experience and I will fast again. And yes, I do believe a three year prayer was answered but that is another blog!
