"Once all villagers decided to pray for rain. On the day of prayer, all the people gathered, but only one boy came with an umbrella. That is faith." Sometimes it is easier to believe a fact if we can see it. Scripture tells us to walk by faith not by sight.
Don't we wish we could be more like that boy? Why can't I? I think I limit God. I forget He still does miracles. I forget He parted the Red Sea! No matter where we are in our journey with God or how smart we are we tend to forget God's faithfulness. If God has promised you something, thank Him for it. Don't tell Him what all of the impossibilities are because He is supernatural!
The Hebrew word for faith is Emmunah which means “support.” I love that. God is our support and He works on all of our situations for His glory. He sees the big picture and knows what is best. We have to believe this so we can walk in faith. He is faithful to what He promised so we don't have to see. He is lining up the right people and places right now. We keep praising and thanking God for what He is doing even when we have no evidence that shows He is working in our favor. That is faith! He tells us those who believe and do not see are blessed. John 20: 29, "Then Jesus told him, 'Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.'"
Look at your past and see God's faithfulness. Trust Him. Trusting builds faith. "When you throw babies in the air, they laugh because they know you will catch them. That is trust."
