Our thoughts can cause our emotions to feel out of control. Our thoughts dictate how we react to certain conversations or situations. When we play scenarios over in our head, the thoughts can make us feel hurt, angry or offended. Sometimes they make us feel inferior and discouraged. In other words, our thoughts can steal our peace and joy.
We are told in Proverbs 4:23, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." The quality of our thoughts will always determine the quality of our life. "Hate can't drive out hate. Only love can drive out hate. Dark can't drive out darkness. Only Light can drive out darkness." Go to God's Word. Psalm 6:6, "I am worn out from my groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears." Micah 7: 7, "But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me." We know where our help comes from! Psalm 121: 1-2, "I lift up my eyes to the mountains where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth."
The Bible, God's Word, is our greatest weapon against the devil in spiritual war. Psalm 130: 5, "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope." Psalm 39: 7, "But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you. When you are feeling hope you are thinking positive which can change you physically and emotionally. We have to practice to create positive thinking. Proverbs 16: 24, "Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." The more we speak these Truths to ourselves, the more we believe it. When we intentionally change our thoughts, our life also changes!
