We will be hurt, disappointed and betrayed in this life. Sometimes it is by someone that we respected and sometimes it is by someone we didn't trust. Either way, we are hurt and would love to take matters into our own hands. This decision will have consequences. A better choice would be to go to the Bible.
The more we focus on trouble the madder and more upset we will be. We have to transform that mind, again, and focus on God and doing good! John 15: 12, "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you." Command is an order not a suggestion. We don't have to agree with someone to love them through Jesus. There will be people who are not kind to us or don't treat us fairly. Deuteronomy 30: 11, "Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach." This makes me smile because He knew we would already be saying, "but God that is too hard!"
God tells us we have to forgive over and over. Jesus was mistreated and He went on about His Father's business. Don't let someone steal your joy. Love will melt cold hearts. Luke 6: 27-29, "But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them." We may feel like doing the wrong thing but we can choose to do the right thing, with His strength. Isaiah 41: 10, "...I will strengthen you and help you..." Every choice has a consequence. When we do the right thing, while still hurting, we are growing. And when we can do that we are showing God that we are choosing to trust Him!
