Block Them!

I am sure all of you get those annoying telemarketing calls, daily. My most frequent one asks for Doris. One day I was so mad I told the guy I am sure God is sad that he is making a living scamming people. He stayed quiet and listened so I kept talking. I told him Jesus still loves Him and would provide another job. He stayed quiet so I continued on with the plan of Salvation. He kept listening and when I was finished I told Him I was hanging up and to call back when He wants to talk about Jesus. He has not called back! I get so mad that they are scamming people that I block them!

We should block other untruths from our life...the thoughts that we know are not from God. Thoughts that we are not worthy or are a failure. Block them with Scripture. Say, "In Jesus' name, I resist you Satan." Reject that spirit of heaviness that Satan tries to put on us. We can tell Satan that we are not going to listen to him because we have Jesus Christ in our heart. If we are carrying guilt or shame remind him that Jesus' blood cleansed our past and our guilt is gone. When we repented, God no longer remembers our sin. Hebrews 8: 12, "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." We should say these things out loud for ourselves to hear.

Isaiah 61: 3, "...and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." We can ask God, daily, for His garment of praise. Faith and worry cannot be in the same thoughts. Hear the gospel. Isaiah 43: 1-2, "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned..."

Everything we need to know is in Scripture and it will give us encouragement and hope!

If you are hearing untruths, it is a scam! Block them!

I think we can all agree that we have a ways to go to pray like Jesus but we should be growing in our prayer life. Prayer is a two way conversation. Sometimes that is hard because we want to do all of
