Blessings In Disguise

I found the perfect card for the perfect situation the other day and I bought it for someone.

Front of card: Blessings In Disguise

Inside of card: Let's plan on looking back on this and laughing someday, okay? Praying with you and for you.

Bible Verse inside:

Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, and have made the Lord their trust and confidence." Jeremiah 17:7

How often do I need to be reminded that what is so big today may be laughable later?! Things that kept me up at night could make me laugh the next week! But it is hard to remember that when you are going through stuff. I know there are times that being held up in traffic, having to go back home to get something can be blessings in disguise but I am talking about the hard stuff. The job, the person, the diagnosis, the finances, school, etc. The burdens! I know that God will bring good from bad for me but I have to MAKE myself thank Him for those tough times. Romans 8: 28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

How do I keep focused on God bringing good from the tough time while I am in the midst of suffering? 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18, "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." James adds in James 1: 12, "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him." I believe that there is no problem without a hidden gift from God in it! We have to carry these problems because we need the gift it will bring! It will come in God's perfect timing! This problem is probably a blessing in disguise! Think back over the hard times in your life and recall the blessings that God brought out of it!

"Thank God for the good times and the bad because we really don't know which is which."
