Believing He Is God

Writer: Jill Jarrell NewsomeJill Jarrell Newsome

This week I am working on my spiritual health which begins with me being still. The following days I will work on knowing, trusting and believing that God IS God! By Friday I believe He will have refreshed my soul! Thankfully, last November, God chose my family's vacation date for this week. I will have seven days at a beach in which I intend to soak up the Son!

To believe is defined as, "accept (something) as true; feel sure of the truth of." Once I knew I could trust God, I began believing more and more about Him and what He could do. This is my faith growing and I will, hopefully, continue to grow in this area of my life. The more I watch Him work in my life, acknowledging what He is doing the more I believe He is able to do!

While we believe God for our salvation, we doubt whether He will keep other promises. Maybe we have prayed for years for something and nothing has happened. We think He is not hearing us or answering our prayers. Doubt is a powerful weapon Satan uses to attack the minds of those whose faith is weak. Our faith begins to think we have to see God to believe in Him. Faith requires that we believe, despite not seeing. Faith comes by hearing God's Word, and believing it - no matter what our circumstances are. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

We can't see God, but we can see His power working in our lives...if we believe.
