I had sent a message to a friend of mine who was going through a tough time. I had texted and then put a heart and meant to put a cross but put a party popper! At first I panicked but then I remember the video we had watched in staff meeting. It was about praying big prayers and I will add to that - praying big prayers and believing that God can do that! So I decided the party popper was a sign of faith - we were already claiming and celebrating what God is doing!
God does not require us to have great faith, just have faith in a great God! You simply are to have faith in a great God. Jesus says in Luke 17: 6, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here to there" and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
If we are abiding in Jesus, guided by the Holy Spirit and praying according to the Word and will of God, we can claim the answer to our prayer request! .Mark 11: 24, "“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Since we believe we are receiving the answer we can go ahead and begin thanking God for what He is doing!
The Israelites were going into the Promised Land to Jericho. God promised He was going to let them into the city and gave them a plan. He told them to march around Jericho for seven days. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times. On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times. Joshua 6: 15, "On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times." I love verse 4, "Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets." They were going ahead and thanking God, believing that He would provide.
Then the prayer was answered! Verse 20, "When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city." When they thanked God, the walls just fell, just like He promised!
When you ask for something believe God will answer! Let's begin thanking God in advance!
