I loved this quote on social media. "I want to be like a sunflower; so that even on the darkest days I will stand tall and find the sunlight!" There is plenty of darkness in this world and we need find the Light! It is easy to get caught up in the darkness, listening to the news or even watching television. If you are feeling like you are in the dark - go to the Light! It is there!
As I read my one year Bible I think about how the Israelites felt when they saw the Red sea! They thought it was a dead end but it is what saved their life. Our ways are not God's ways. Isaiah 55: 8-9, "'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' declares the Lord. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'" Think about the army when they saw little young David getting ready to fight Goliath. That did not appear to be a fair fight! But Goliath was conquered! Again, not our ways but God's way!
Our story may look like it is over. Maybe our job, our dream, a relationship, our finances, what ever it is, God can handle it. He has the best way! In the Bible, Ruth went from gleaning in the field to owning the field! God tells us He is our strength. Psalm 46: 1, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." He knows our situations and our hearts and He will bring us through. Go ahead and thank Him for what He has done, what He is doing and what He will do!
