Some years back people were paying to get their ancestry DNA to help find their story. People wanted this information for medical reasons, to know about their ancestors, find someone or they were just curious. They wanted the rest of the story.
Whether our stories are tragic or triumphant, we are all a part of a royal family! We are all adopted children! Even Jesus was looked after by Joseph even though he was not his blood. It does not matter where your story starts. It matters how your story ends. Adoption is a deliberate love that breaks blood bonds and causes strangers to fall in love on a family level. God tells us we are part of the family of God forever, because of our faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 8: 15, "...the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship..." God has made us an heir. Galatians 4: 4-5, "But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship."
We are not naturally born into this relationship. Jesus paid the price for our adoption. John 1: 12, "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—" Our adoption is a spiritual rebirth or as Jesus calls it being "born again" or "born of the Spirit". John 3: 3, "Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." God chose us to be His child in His family.
No matter how your story started, you can choose to be part of God's family. Psalm 27: 10, "Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me." This family has been growing since creation and one day we will live together for eternity in the presence of God.
We need to find our story in THE STORY! The King is looking for you. He wants to give you your royal inheritance of abundant life!
