We have all seen someone do whatever needed for their own agenda and continue to get by with it. Mistreating others for your own agenda has been around for a long time! In Genesis 27: 14-27, "So Jacob went and got two goats and brought them to his mother, who made the tasty food his father loved. And Rebekah took the finest clothes in the house that belonged to her older son Esau, and she put them on her younger son Jacob. She also put the skins of the young goats on his hands and on the smooth part of his neck. Then she handed her son Jacob the tasty food and bread she had made." Isaac touched his son's hand and felt the hair. He smelled his clothes and then blessed him. Isaac acted on his own feelings and that got him in trouble. Luke 12; 2, "But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known." Jacob was deceived in Genesis 29: 25, "When morning came, there was Leah! So Jacob said to Laban, 'What is this you have done to me? I served you for Rachel, didn’t I? Why have you deceived me?'”
Matthew 7: 12, "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." When we don't do this I believe we suffer consequences whether others know or not. We have to be in fear of being found out and often times the lies have to get bigger. I think some people don't know what to do and are afraid of being honest so they take matters into their own hands. Go to God. Philippians 4: 6-7, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
God's way is always best even if we do not understand. Isaiah 55: 8-9, "'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' declares the Lord. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'" There is only one agenda you should have. Mark 3:14-15, "He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons." They were to go preach and drive out demons but first it says to "be with Him". When our hearts are in alignment with God, we keep our focus on Him and ourselves out of trouble. Are you running towards an agenda? Is it yours or God's?
